Fenty Beauty by Rihanna
As a girl in Barbados, Robyn Rihanna Fenty became transfixed by her mother's lipstick. Throughout her illustrious career, makeup "became a weapon of self-expression" for the songstress. Rihanna created Fenty Beauty as she noticed a gap in the beauty industry: people of colour were either being misrepresented or not represented at all. Diversity pre-RiRi looked more like 50 shades of beige.
People of colour are being neglected by the beauty industry. There are too few foundation shades to represent the population of people purchasing makeup. As such, consumers are forced to create their own products through DIY methods.
Rihanna did that. She designed products for every shade, texture, and tone. Now every beautiful person can share their shine.
Take the high road. Fenty Beauty is already a holy grail brand. That's an objective fact. Let the products do the talking, but watch out: they've got claws.
